Building a Better Hospital Experience with Communication

A hospital stay can often feel overwhelming. It’s natural for patients and families to seek clear answers about their care: Who is on my care team? What does my schedule look like for today? Easy access to this information reduces uncertainty and creates a smoother, more confident experience.

Grand Itasca has introduced updated patient care boards in every hospital room to enhance communication and patient experience. This initiative was made possible by a generous $43,000 donation from the Grand Itasca Foundation. These boards provide real-time, essential information, keeping patients, families, and care teams informed and aligned throughout their hospital stay. Read on to learn how these new updates have positively impacted the patient experience.

The Impact of Our New Patient Boards

Thanks to the Grand Itasca Foundation's donation, every hospital room now features updated patient care boards. These boards share vital information about care plans, ensuring patients and families stay informed while facilitating better coordination among care teams. By enhancing communication, the boards boost patient safety, strengthen staff relationships, and improve the patient experience.

Bri Wagner, Director of the Grand Itasca Foundation, highlighted the importance of this initiative: "Improving our patient care boards was a key project for the Foundation. We believe they can significantly enhance patient safety, communication, and satisfaction, which is a win for patients, their families, and the staff."

These updates empower patients, improve teamwork, and contribute to better outcomes."
