My interest in practicing nursing and medicine started at a young age. I would ride my bike as a young teen to the local nursing home and volunteer to keep busy. From there, my interest grew into the nursing field and I enjoyed the interaction and helping others. I became a nursing assistant after high school and continued my nursing education in the Brainerd area. I worked for 8 years as a registered nurse in Grand Rapids in various fields including: Medical, surgical, ICU, ER, and radiology. I knew that I was passionate about my career and wanted to become more involved in the disease management process and went back to school for my family nurse practitioner degree. I enjoy the many different areas of healthcare and love that the learning never ends. I like the challenge of solving complex health problems and find great satisfaction in helping patients develop a plan to help manage their illnesses and live a higher quality life.

In my spare time, I am raising and enjoying my 4 children, enjoy being physically active, cooking, and traveling to new places.
